Dear West Ottawa Families,
Last week 7th graders finished up their Aerial Perspective drawings. As part of this project, students created problems in their cities and learned how to draw a superhero in correct human proportion to save their cities from disaster. Students also wrote a letter to the mayor of their city to try and convince the mayor to choose their superhero to protect the city. Throughout this unit on aerial perspective, we have made many connections with common core classes. We tied to the math curriculum when making our windows and learned that they all needed to be parallel with one another. We will also tied into the language arts classes when we wrote our letters and reviewed the components of formal letter writing: introductory paragraphs, transitions, and concluding remarks. This week students will begin painting their own color wheel and learn about color theory. Please check Infinite Campus for your child's most current grade and encourage your son or daughter to complete and turn in any missing work he or she may have. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at [email protected] Sincerely, Mrs. Morrissey |
