Dear Mac Bay Families,
7th graders have been working on a color collage. Each student started by sketching out a design and they are currently looking for different colors in magazines to fill their design. In class we looked at the work of Georges Seurat who used the Pointillism technique. Seurat would paint using little dots of color and when the viewer stands back, he or she sees an image. In class we also discussed how pixels work in digital photography. The closeness and number of dots per inch (dpi) there are, the higher the resolution and clearer the picture appears. By studying these different types of artwork, students gained a better understanding of the color collage project and how to create a successful piece of artwork. The color collage is due on Friday, 29. With the end of the year coming to a close, please encourage your child to demonstrate the R.O.C.K.S. character traits: Respect Ownership Compassion Knowledge Success If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at [email protected]. Sincerely, Mrs. Morrissey Comments are closed.
